In addition you have experimented with square wave relaxation oscillators a wien bridge sine wave oscillator and waveform synthesis using digital counters.
In this video i demonstrate a sine wave generator circuit built with a 555 timer chip.

For most applications it is neither economical nor practical to dedicate a function generator that costs roughly 1200.
I put the chip in astable mode to produce a square wave and then plac.
That includes a square wave triangle wave rectangular pulse etc.
So first for the power requirements of this circuit we use 4 5v to the 555 timer chip.

Just to note almost any wave shape that is fed into a filter like a bandpass filter will produce a sine wave.
