Hello all i have tried everything thinkable to resolve my problems so this is my last resort.

Just make the area above a room and delete walls and ceiling of the extra layer.
I just got back to playing the sims when cats dogs came out.
In order to create a roof piece that has 5 or 6 sides the angle of the sides cannot be 45 degrees.
Grab the arrow on the roof piece pull the roof back a few squares click on the ceiling you wish to remove to delete it if you accidentally remove the room just hit the back arrow.
In the sims 4 we are only able to create diagonal walls on one angle a perfect 45 degrees.
And maybe you can try using roof brackets turned to the side depending on how wide the gable is.

That works in many cases but not where you just have an open gap in your roof and haven t defined the area above as a room.
Put two of them longways against the wall and turn them in opposing directions.

Editi m having the same problem and it s at the point where my sim won t stay asleep at all.
One of the most obvious limitations is that due to the angle of the hexagonal and pentagonal roofs they will never sit flawlessly on top of a structure.
