First you want to set up the software to tell the cameo that you are cutting without a mat.
Well instead of being limited to only cutting as big as my mat is i can cut as wide as my silhouette 12 inches on the silhouette cameo and 9 inches on the silhouette portrait by as long as my material is.
The arrow on the screen is indicating where the material will be loaded into the cameo.
The new pop out cut is definitely my favorite portrait 3 feature.
Change the cutting mat to none.
With this feature the cameo 4 will make cuts but keep the material in place using perforation cuts in strategic places.
Of course there isn t a ten foot mat available omg how would one store such a thing so if you want to cut longer than 24 cut without a mat.
Previous silhouette machines allow you to cut vinyl and other backed materials without a mat but with the portrait 3 and the cameo 4 you can now cut materials like cardstock and paper without a mat.
For the first time ever cut materials like paper and cardstock without a cutting mat.
If you ve never done that before don t be intimidated by the idea of going matless.
The second option to cut without a mat is new and exclusive to the cameo 4 models and higher.
Change the page size to the size of material you are using.
